Recent planning decisions by delegated powers (Details supplied by Walter Houlton)

  1. Barnes Way, Kingswood. Erection of three storey Integrated Care Centre. Permitted on 24 December 2009. This is a very large NHS building, one step down from a hospital, providing many services including ambulances. This is the Integrated Care Centre for north Hull. It is intended to provide Integrated Care Centres for east Hull and west Hull but the sites have not yet been decided.
  2. Ye Old Blue Bell, Market Place. (1.) Addition of ridged roof over games room following removal of existing monopitch roof and part of retaining wall. (2.) Addition of fence to existing wall at rear. Permitted on 21 December 209.0
  3. Land and buildings at 20-24 Baker Street. Bounded by Little Reed Street to north and Clarence Court to east. Complete demolition of unlisted buildings without a contract being in place for replacement buildings. Refused on 21 December 2009. (Hooray! – JDS)
  4. 14-16 South Street. Installation of new shop front. Permitted on 21 December 2009.
  5. 33 Whitefriargate. Listed building consent for )1.) Alteration to shop front to form service hatch. (2.) Installation of new fascia and projecting sign. Permitted on 24 December 2009.
  6. The Coach House, 5-7 Union Street. LBC for the erection of orangery

  1. Princess Royal Hospital site – outline application for residential development (Hull & EY NHS Trust) –Approved subject to Section 106

West

  1. China Palace, St Andrews Dock – erection of dwelling in connection with restaurant (Mr J Chu) – Refused.
  2. Pickering High School – erection of new schools (Sirius Academy and Ganton School) – Permitted
  3. Various properties on N & S sides of Anlaby Rd between Hawthorn Ave & Sandringham St – new walls & railings to front gardens (Mr Ian Bullock) Permitted

North

  1. 137 Beverley Rd (the neglected part of the terrace opposite the Swan) – COU to 7 s/c flats (Mr Al-Helu) perm. (Refused in Oct) If this goes ahead it will remedy one of the eyesores in this conservation area!
  2. Vapour Baths, Epworth St, Beverley Rd (formerly part of of Bev Rd Baths) – COU from auction room to place of worship, new windows and erection of a conservatory to rear.  Permitted & LBC Approval

Buildings

  1. Portakabins have been erected on part of Albion St CP as temporary location of new health centre and hoardings have gone up in preparation for demolition of Grattan’s (originally Jordans) building to erect a permanent new health centre on Storey St
  2. 25-30 Albion St – restoration now completed and looking very good.  Good Mark?
  3. History Centre due to open 11 Jan (Local History Library – with full archives 2 weeks later)
  4. LA’s site, Ferensway – Youth centre planned – no application yet
